This week the Christmas markets opened and suddenly, our spirits are lifted. During the same week, I presented with others on a Woman’s Alliance meeting about finding joy at this time of the year. So many are on their own due to jobs, tricky family dynamics and for other readers and we were looking to find ways of feeling part of life. This weekend were lucky to sing with a group of friends whilst other friends looked on as part of the audience, and we had dinner with another group of friends. We realized it is beginning to feel more like home, a sense of belonging. For many, this year has been a rollercoaster plus an epidemic and finding a sense of light is so important, physically and emotionally. We hadn’t thought much about decorations but decided to put up fairy lights everywhere, wrapping lights around lovely decorations in bowls, mirrors and almost the cats! Tapping in to your inner child can be wonderful and it looks magical.
Lights, Action!
Even if you are living in a renting space, you can decorate your space. You can find other posts here that talk about colour and where to use it in the different bagua sectors, but let’s focus on lights. Go to your local store and find some battery operated fairy lights that can easily wrap around decor. Bigger lights are also great for more effect but they are heavier and may be best on a table. Plan were you can put them, get some fishing wire to string along were possible, lots of batteries and blue-tack or tiny pins to secure them and you are ready to go. Hang from curtains or blinds, put them in bowls and in vases, or around a mirror, it will give a sense of fun and fantasy. As Victor Hugo said, “To love beauty is to see light”.
