A lovely jewellery shop, or bijoux as they call it in France, has opened up opposite us. We have got to know the owners and by serendipity, he is interested in permaculture and alternative thinking. We were offered a glass of champagne on their opening day. As we discussed Feng Shui it was immediately clear that the shop has a corridor effect that could quickly be fixed.

Hallways & Corridors

Many houses and spaces have a door that opens straight into a long hallway. Some corridors even go right out a back door or through to windows. The energy rushes through the area and the other sections of the bagua map are not activated. As I stood talking to Didier on the opening day, I discussed the corridor effect. Just to prove the point, two women walked through the door, passed us both, ignored the lovely earring displays on the right and walked straight to the back. He immediately asked what to do. There was a small table of handbags that we moved to the centre which required people to move around it. I notice today, he has a box display of glittery beach shoes at the entrance which catches the eye and then a small table of cute beach bags. Already customers are moving around and checking out the whole store. In addition, he has moved his expensive silk beach dresses to the far right; back into the Wealth sector.

What to Do!

This has been the case for several places we have had and there are various cures, so don’t panic! The key remedy is to slow down the energy, the Chi, to move in to the other parts of your living space.

– Put a crystal ball at the first arch or inside the farthest window or back door, stating that this ‘keeps all positive energy inside this space’;

– Place a small table with interesting art work appropriate for the entrance – check out the Career, Self Knowledge or Travel and Helpful People, your entrance will be in one of these sectors;

– If you have an amazing view and yes this seems counter intuitive, and lots of space, place a sofa or sideboard so the energy is attracted to stop and admire your decor and then the view;

– Old fashioned houses were built this way with rooms either side, so hang art work, paint entrance doors to other areas or hang a wall hanging for people to stop and admire rather than rush through.
