Let’s talk about what prosperity actually means for you. This sector can be seen as representing abundance and prosperity in all aspects of your life, not just money. Abundance and prosperity is about nourishment of wealth, career, friends and health. This is the sector to place items and symbols that mean prosperity to you. It is the far left corner of your whole place and can also be the far left corner of each room as you enter a room from the main door. In our new French apartment, it is the dining room and this space will also be used as a place for work, two great uses to generate abundance!

Purple, Blue, Red or Green?

We all want growth in the prosperity sector and plants are a key symbol of growth which means selecting green as a key colour. We have chosen the colours of tropical green and cobalt blue against a soft ivory colour. There are so many shades of green – from a blue tint to a yellow hue. For Feng Shui, think more of your typical natural greens with a yellow tone that symbolise the textures of trees, plants and natural fabrics.  It can be used as a dominant colour or touches in cushions and accessories can be enough. This area has Wood as the key element as outlined below, other elements such as Water and Earth are ideal to use as a partners in the Feng Shui cycle as Wood grows in Earth and Water nurtures Wood. A rich blue is perfect as the secondary colour.

Knock on Wood

The Prosperity sector has Wood as the key element and naturally, symbolises growth, new beginnings, healing and good health. However; if there is too much of the Wood element in the room, it can unbalance the Chi energy and give a sense of too much happening and over-commitment. This can easily be balanced with other elements such as Water which is represented in the dining room by a bright cobalt blue. The warm ivory wall paint represents the Earth element and Wood is represented by the table. The green velour chairs add a wonderful rich colour and the initial effect is one of warmth and growth.

Next Steps

We are looking for tropical prints of birds and fruit. Remember, this is the Wealth sector so pay as much as you can afford. My Feng Shui mentor – Clear Englebert, says – “drop some serious money in this area!”.
