I love everything about this sign! The only thing it needed to add was Cocktails and Chocolate!

I would prefer to live forever in perfect health, but if I must at some time leave this life, I would like to do so ensconced on a chaise longue, perfumed, wearing a velvet robe and pearl earrings, with a flute of Champagne beside me and having just discovered the answer to the last problem in a British cryptic crossword. There are many of us moving forward in to new ventures, lifestyles and ways of thinking. It isn't easy, we will make mistakes and we will be anxious. However; there is also a sense of diving in and stretching out our arms to merge in to that sea of newness with hope and excitement.

Love and chocolate is all I need and if it happens to be by the sea and I am wearing my aqua dress, summer heels with a cocktail in my hand and my Andrew is making me laugh - I am in heaven.  

In a tiny Frejus junk shop, there are piles of 1931-1934 Illustration magazines with wonderful adverts and articles. I love this picture as it sums up the sense of life and joy as we start the early summer with fresh, crisp, blue sky mornings of promise.

Apparently Humphrey Bogart's last words were, "I never should have switched from Scotch to Martinis." So in his style, it was Friday night, we needed a bar that promised Paradise. I had two (Gin, Apricot Brandy and a dash of fresh orange juice). Here's looking at you, Lesley!

I am a fan of a really good, traditional cocktail. None of this a can of soda, half a mint plant and a load of ice in a glass! I want style, good liquor and a kick in the head as Dean Martin would say.

Give me the sea, sun, sand and seagulls and I am instantly in paradise.

My grandmother kept beautiful things under lock and key in a glass cabinet only to be used for special occasions. I now use vintage cocktail glasses, a silver toast rack and other vintage items to enjoy them.
