Last week was one of those weeks and as I write this post on a Sunday, I am hoping the next week brings joy, happiness and if nothing else. the weather says it is going to be a lovely sunny week which means some beach time. Where to start? Our water heater decided not to cooperate, a small leak appeared and a close colleague died.

This is where gratitude sits up and begins. Our lovely neighbours immediately offered their bathroom to use and I will leave them a gift of thanks. Then a plumber turned up on time, replaced a part, the heater is working (I cross my fingers as I write this) and we all sighed with relief. He didn’t overcharge and we added a bottle of wine to his fee. The leak on the wall was caused by a dead bird in the gutter. Yet again, a moment of support. The building management quickly sent someone around to clear the pipe and the area was painted with a stain remover paint and all is fine.

Finally, my ex-boss caught up with me and let me know that a well-regarded and wonderful young colleague had died from a stroke whilst presenting online. What to say? As Albert Einstein stated, “Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow.”
