Wealth comes in many forms including abundance in health, wealth, wisdom, love and friendship. Whatever you are activating, do it with intent but ensure you are focused. Our key focus is on wealth to sell our first Antibes apartment for a great price to lovely people and quickly. There is my intent – a lot to ask for during a pandemic but I am putting it out there! Our living room is where we spend most of our time and it is in the Wealth sector. This means brighter colours and decor which we love to use to activate this sector. I have other posts on this element and rather than repeat the content, here are some key points. https://interiorharmonyblog.com/2018/10/12/the-wealth-prosperity-sector/

  • It is in the far left of the Bagua map from your front door or the main door you use to enter your place;
  • The key element is Wood which is about growth – other positive elements to use are Water as Wood needs Water to grow;
  • Metal is not a great element to add here as Metal cuts down Wood which diminishes the wealth;
  • Key colours to use are bright purple, green and navy – you can just use touches in accessories as these are strong colours;
  • Drop some money here as my mentor, Clear Englebert, says – buy the most expensive decor you can afford;
  • Plants are great to put here – ours suffered in the move but I am pleased to see new shoots meaning new growth

The Five Elements Cycle

You can also combine all elements here for a balanced approach. In our living room, a Chinese money chest of golden elm is placed with elements of metal, water, earth and fire to activate the full lifecycle. The art works are two Malaysian pieces we bought on our first move to Penang. That seems like another lifetime. They show the pear harvest cycle of gathering and reaping the benefits of the golden fruit. The white elephant lamp is waiting for an emerald green lampshade, and Buddha is there as he represents a sense of peace in achieving abundance. A crystal is above the window as we have what is called a split level view so this crystal stops all positive Chi energy, going out of the window. I got one piece of good news this last week which enables a payment so I am hanging on to that as a positive sign of abundance growth!

Decorate with Colour!

Our living area has usually been in the relationship corner and included soft coffee tones with pale blue and ivory. This time, it is in the Wealth sector and that means brighter colours. We have added art work with red above the cocktail bar by a favourite Australian artist, Dianne Longley. It is ironically called, The Theatre of Diminishing Departures! An expensive bamboo chair with a tropical cushion made from a recycled tablecloth adds a sense of fun. Lovely but expensive French curtains drape and pool on the floor – Feng Shui practice likes this and I am happy not to have to hem them. The ivory sofa was the best we could afford and the table cloth pattern was used again in throw cushions. It is a different look and has a light, ‘plantation’ feel.

But I Am on a Budget

As per usual, a question often asked is what can be done on a basic budget? It is easy to decorate with lots of money and we are lucky to have long term furniture that has weathered the moves. However, I have friends on a budget who want to activate their wealth sector and in the past, we had very little extra to use for decorating. Remember it isn’t a miracle cure but the key factor is to spend what you can to activate the wealth sector in your place. Check out my other posts on recycling furniture by painting or updating, checking out local marketplaces/flea markets and upgrading a piece of furniture. Focus on growth and intent and abundance in all its forms as a Sufi saying says, “abundance can be had simply by consciously receiving what already has been given.”
