The Wealth & Prosperity Sector

“Not what we have but what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance” Epicurus

I see this sector as representing abundance and prosperity in all aspects of your life, not just money. Abundance and prosperity is about nourishment of wealth, career, friends and health. This is the sector to place items and symbols that mean prosperity to you. It is the far left corner of your whole place and can also be the far left corner of each room as you enter a room from the main door.

Purple and Green

The key colour is purple and not an easy colour to find or use. It is possible to put a touch of purple or as I have, place an expensive purple vase in this area. Other suggestions include; frame pictures with purple borders, place a purple lamp or use a rug in that area. You can also use a rich green and symbols of growth such as leaves or flowers.

Knock On Wood

The key element is wood and of course, water supports the growth of wood. The combination of water and wood is ideal here. Place objects that have a wood element energy to it, or use wood images, such as forests or leafy plant. Consider a water feature in the corner, such as a fountain, to feed prosperity but make sure it is gentle and constantly cleaned. Use art or photos that represent growth and abundance.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is a mixture of water and fire elements so it is important to balance and place these carefully. I will post all about the kitchen soon. The kitchen can be associated with wealth, prosperity, good food and wine. Wood, water and fire can work well if placed properly and the combination of wood and green follows the 5 elements cycle. Feng Shui tip: keep water and fire separate, common sense really – this includes stove tops, ovens, microwaves vs sink, drains, dishwashers – I have seen a stove top on top of a fridge!

The Bathroom

Ideally, this is not the best place to have your wealth sector. By now, you probably know that the bathroom is considered an issue regardless of where it is placed in on the Bagua Map. However, this is more of a challenge than normal. You need to keep it clean and uncluttered, ensure all water flows easily, and that there is no damp. I will write a section just on the bathroom soon. Some key tips:

• Use art work that symbolises wealth and sends that message
• Spend as much as you can on good towels and accessories
• Always keep the toilet seat down – Feng Shui practices see this as money going down the drain
• Make sure your drains are covered
• Use quality products to give a sense of wealth and luxury
